Get Growing Garden Trail 2019

The Get Growing Garden Trail is an opportunity to explore the city’s secret fruit & veg gardens – its community allotments and orchards, smallholdings and mini market gardens, city farms and pocket productive parks.

This year the Trail will run throughout June, but with a focus on a different area of the city each weekend, starting with a launch event at Feed Bristol on Saturday 1 June.

Our focus in 2019 will be on nature-friendly growing. Every community growing group in the city sets aside some space for nature, whether that’s through planting edibles for the birds and insects as well as for us at Stoke Lane Community Garden, by installing beehives at Blaise Community Garden, or by dotting mini sink ponds through Metford Road Community Orchard. There will be tips to share, and ideas to bring back to your own plot – no matter how tiny that is.

We’re currently putting together this year’s Trail. If we haven’t been in touch with you yet, and it’s something you’d like to get involved in, please contact us at bristolfoodnetwork@googlemail.com
