Introduction to Smallholding Workshop: Part 1 of 2

March 23 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm UTC+1

| £40

**Please note different Locations**
**Total Cost £40 includes both sessions**

Part One @ Lawrence Weston Community Farm
Community Room, 10am–1pm, Saturday 23 March 2019.

Part one of the workshop will look at general issues around running a smallholding, including land management, planning, complying with legislation, and specific issues such as animal husbandry, growing vegetables and fruit, growing food for livestock as well as other products such as willow and hay.  We will briefly look at finance and marketing surplus produce and discuss issues such as how to finance a smallholding from scratch (if participants are interested).  Finally how to skill up so that you can get things done yourself and where to go for support.

This excellent location gives an opportunity to talk indoors and have a look around the Community Farm, which will provide an interesting contrast to part two of the workshop…

Part Two @ My Smallholding in Yatton (precise location to be divulged upon booking, not far from Station)
10am–1pm, Saturday 27 April 2019

Part Two of the workshop will cover the same general issues as part one, but you will be able to look at a genuine smallholding and see how it has unfolded over the past 15 years.
