Film screening – Seed: The untold story

November 18, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm UTC+1

| £5

This visually stunning film reveals in close-up time-lapse detail the miracle of how seeds contain life and can lie dormant, then grow to sustain all life and all our food, around the world.

It’s also the story of how multinationals own patents on seeds to control over two-thirds of the global seed market, and the loss of 94% of our seed stock varieties over the last 100 years. We see famers, indigenous communities, lawyers and scientists working to maintain diversity and connection with the wonders of nature.

In support of Seed, we are also showing a short inspirational filmed talk by one of the founders of the UK-wide ‘Incredible Edible’ initiative, and there will be a display about local growing projects here in Long Ashton.
Advance tickets will be on sale online, from the LA Community Centre Café and from the Long Ashton Post Office. Tickets will be available on the night at the door. Door sales will be cash only.

Doors open at 7.15pm and the screening will start at 8pm.

This film has a PG certificate.

Running time 95 minutes.
