Here at Incredible Edible Bristol we are hoping to grow our team of fantastic Community Gardeners.

For the last five years we have created growing spaces, grown free food for all, and built connections with people and organisations all across the city. Our Community Gardeners work with our volunteer coordinator on a drop-in basis, everyone is welcome at any time during our work parties, and this will always be at the heart of what we do.

Alongside our drop-ins, we’d now like to create a Core Team of Community Gardeners who will commit to a regular session of volunteering with us. This could be as little as one morning a month, or as often as two mornings a week, and will allow a deeper sense of engagement with our growing spaces. Core Team members may choose to work in one garden in particular, or to work throughout the city.

What we’re looking for
If you’d like to join our Core Team you must be friendly, tolerant of others, responsible and open to learning new skills. Previous horticultural experience isn’t necessary, but passion for learning how to grow is essential! We need a minimum of six months’ commitment. Applicants must be over 18, and physically able to undertake gardening work.

What we’ll offer you
In return for giving time regularly, we will be offering the Core Team horticultural training at our new Adult Learning Zone allotment space in Speedwell. For those interested, there will also be a chance to take a place on our steering group and help shape our future as we grow. As ever, there’s a cup of tea and a biscuit in it for you too!

Hours: Minimum 4 hours a month, on either Wednesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays

Location: Various sites across Bristol, including our Urban Food Trail and Castle Park
