The Star and Dove are on a mission to bring historic British food back to life. We are constantly trying to push boundaries and redefine how people view our food heritage.

Landlords, Leigh Pascoe, Timothy Denny and Matthew Duggan main focus is on British Heritage Cookery, tirelessly researched to ensure all dishes deliver a genuine and accurate eating experience.

We offer unique dining with recipes taken from written accounts, manuscripts and doctrines dated as far back as 1390, reliving dishes kings and queens have eaten prepared by the finest chefs in the land.

In the tavern we serve a large small plate offering whilst Sundays hold strong with our award winning Sunday lunches.

You’ll find a well-stocked Bar with over 50 bottled beers and ciders, a worldly wine menu in which we picked up a 2nd best in Bristol award and six rotating ales as featured in The Good Beer Guide 2014 and a huge spirit range.
