The Bristol Local Food Fund (BLFF) is a new city-wide fund launching in 2021. The vision of BLFF is of a city where everyone can access good quality, affordable food, regardless of their background or situation.

The Fund will be kickstarted with a major crowdfunding campaign, aiming to raise at least £100K.

BLFF will tackle food insecurity and inequality in Bristol by awarding grants and support to community food projects that help people and communities, particularly those that work in areas or support communities that experience the most severe food insecurity.

BLFF will work in collaboration with stakeholders and partners across the city to raise consistent funds and will prioritise diversity, equity and inclusion. Grants will be awarded through a process of participatory grant-making, where people that the fund aims to help will make many of the decisions about how the grant funding process is designed, and how grants are awarded. This process will be led by a diverse and representative Advisory Panel of people from across our city, with lived experience of food insecurity, who will be paid for their expertise and time.

If you’re interested in helping make this happen, BLFF are currently recruiting for volunteers to help with the Crowdfunder stage through June–October this year.
