August 25 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm UTC+1| £5
As part of our project to manage field margins in a sustainable and ecological way, we are offering a scything workshop with Peter Speight from Backwell Environment Trust.
This ancient tool is making a comeback. It’s an effective low tech and low carbon alternative to strimmers and lawn mowers, as well as being fun and satisfying activity. Scything is perfect for mowing small meadows, weeds (such as nettles, grassy verges) and even lawns.
During the day we will be learning how to scythe, pitchfork and rake effectively. We are also offering a delicious organic lunch.
Please bring sensible outdoor footwear as well as waterproofs/sunhat just in case.
A suggested donation of £5 would be gratefully received.
