Love Food Festival Autumn
October 29, 2017 @ 10:30 am - 4:00 pm UTC+1
Join Love Food Festival as the clocks go back and we celebrate the turn of the season.
It’s time once again to get cosy with a Dick Willows mulled cider, stock up on beautiful local produce, enjoy some of the best street food Bristol has to offer and spend time with friends and family.
You can choose from a fine array of local cheeses from The Somerset Deli, super fresh fish and shellfish from ‘Devon Fishcakes’, chutneys and sauces from ‘Gingerbeards’, sumptuous cakes from ‘The Cake Sisters’, Kombucha from ‘Balanced Nature’, Local Charcuterie from ‘The Cotswold Curer’ and much more.
On the street food front we will be joined by ‘Los Hermanos’ who will be serving up their superb tortas, alongside Agnes Spencers Jerk Chicken, stunning paella from ‘Socarrat’ and many others.
Local award winning chef ‘Jo Ingleby’ will be running some delicious workshops. Expect pumpkin ravioli, butter making and apple crumble workshops for budding young chefs and their families.
Hungry minds will be satisfied too with a topical selection of local experts sharing their wisdom and enthusiasm with you in a series of talks and workshops:
Our resident nutritionist ‘Gay Darke’ will be sharing some top tips on how to stay well during the colder months. Local author Lia Leendertz will be bringing her new Almanac to life through the subject of autumn, Cider lord Dick Willows will be talking apples and cider with a tasting or two, and Liz Knight from ‘Forage’ will be talking about the magic of wild food.
But it won’t just be delicious food on offer. Love Food Festival has teamed up with ‘Made In Bristol’ to provide a selection of seasonal, handmade arts and crafts all created here in the city.
The wonderful ‘Oodle Doodle’ will be back too and will be hosting some superb autumnal arts and craft activities for our younger visitors.
Commenting, Love Food Festival’s Lorna Knapman said: “Autumn is one of my favourite seasons. Time to hunker down and get cosy with some delicious food and drink. I’m also really excited that Made In Bristol will be providing some really creative and unique crafts. Perfect for those organised enough to start their Christmas shopping now!”
“As an enthusiastic visitor to the wonderful Love Food Festivals I am delighted we have been invited to share a taste of Bristol’s creative talent. Our makers will be showcasing a seasonal selection of handmade contemporary craft and giving you the chance to buy direct from the artist whilst supporting the cities creative economy and as shopping locally is a win win for everyone – enjoy!” Said Made in Bristol’s Bryony Morgan
