As part of Bristol Food Network’s goal to help Bristol beome a ‘Gold’ Sustainable Food City, we’ve been taking a look at Bristol’s major public events, asking: What would our festivals look like, if Bristol was a genuinely sustainable city? There would be very visible segregated recycling of course, but what about reduced meat/no meat options on sale from the licenced street traders? or a ban on single-use plastics, with only keep-cups allowed on site?

Bristol-based  City to Sea are already leading the way in innovative campaigning to reduce our  reliance on ‘disposable’ plastics. You can read more about the issue in an article by Councillor Martin Fodor at: https://www.bristol247.com/opinion/your-say/plastics-single-use-blight-need-tame/ plus you can sign his petition calling for a ban on single-use plastics at: http://epetitions.bristol.gov.uk/epetition_core/view/plasticsban
